It's nice to have me back, innit? Does anyone even still have me on their friends list? :(
I've been sick.
I lost weight (10lbs!) on a coughing-only diet. (I've now put 7lbs back on. Shit.)
I scream to the world, fuck the artists! (Or one in particular)

Daily Kos turned three yesterday. One of the (if not THE) most popular political blogs online. I fell upon dKos with a thud about this time last year, when I was trying to find info about the upcoming Democratic primaries (or perhaps they were already underway? I dunno), and fell in love.
It's indepth, it's topical, and sometimes it's funny as hell. And it gives the Republicans a right solid kick in the nuts. HOORAY!

This is becoming more an excercise of experimentation than frustration.
Since I last wrote, I've tried three different ways of incorporation Technorati tags into this site: 1, in the feed itself; 2, in the extended entry bits, and 3 (the final try) in the body of the entry. This last use of them had worked for me previously, but didn't the last time.
Very queer. I've not heard from Cheyenne again, bless her heart - she seems to always be the one handling my support issues, so I can only imagine her workload. She seems nice enough, though. And Technorati is only a new(ish) company, is trying to grow, so my heart immediately goes out to them. It's not like I'm paying for them to index my tags, either.
Still I'd be curious to know exactly why this isn't working. (Based on past experience, this entry's tags will actually work! We shall see, hmm?).

A pleasant surprise today: a friend of Bev's, who we lost touch with when our mobile phones were stolen last year, Phil Borg worked on Valiant!
Phil's a digital artist, whose work you would have seen in Gladiator, Black Hawk Down (the helicopter crash is his), Die Another Day (the Bond film - the invisible car is his), Tomb Raider, and a load of others. He's a talented bloke - sure makes all my amazing achievements (like, umm, getting up in the morning) pale in comparison.
It's great to see he's getting work, and in high-profile films to boot.

I just had this blog described as a 'shopping / critic blog' by Janel. Baahh. :-) I can see her point, but I promise I do excel in other things, not just moaning and shopping. Truly.
Talking about shopping, I took Bev and her mother (Olive) out today, to buy a new PC for Olive. She has my old clunker, and since she had a budget for a new one we decided today was the day. In the end, I managed to find her an AMD Athlon 3000 base unit for around £350. Nice. We'd gone to PC World (since it's easy to get to), and despite having to basically wrestle one of the assistants there to the ground with a chinese burn just to get him to actually tell me what units were within our budget, we were in and out in about 15 minutes.
While I was there I finally saw, in the flesh (so to speak), a Mac Mini.
Oh my.
Oh my my my.
They're so darn CUTE. It's enough to turn me to the white side. Janel has a mac, and she's often talking to me about it - although I am (and probably always will be) a PC/Windows boy, the idea of having a Mac is like flirting with that strange, attractive woman who doesn't speak english but looks just too damn curvy for words. (*ahem*)
